Body Contouring in Wellington — Start With the Problem, Not the Procedure
“Body contouring” is an umbrella, not a single operation. Underneath it sit two very different toolkits: removing fat volume and removing or tightening excess tissue. This hub helps you figure out which conversation fits what you see in the mirror — then points you to the right page. Results vary. Every plan requires an in-person exam.

Two toolkits
Volume reduction vs tissue removal
Most frustration with a body area comes down to one of three layers — fat, skin, or the muscle wall beneath. Matching the layer to the tool is the whole game.
Liposuction & Lipo 360
Reduces pinchable fat through small access incisions. Works best when skin still has the elasticity to settle over a smaller volume. Lipo 360 plans the abdomen, waist, and back as one continuous shape when fullness wraps around.
Excision-based contouring
Removes excess skin and, for the abdomen, may repair a separated muscle wall. Trades a longer scar and longer recovery for changes liposuction cannot make.

How we decide
An exam-first sequence, every time
Your goals, in your words
What bothers you, in which clothes, from which angle. We leave the procedure name out until the exam is done.
Layer-by-layer exam
Pinch test for fat, snap-back and fold check for skin, and an assessment of the abdominal wall when the midsection is involved.
Health and timing review
Weight stability, future pregnancy plans, medications, nicotine, and medical clearance needs.
Honest recommendation
Lipo 360, targeted liposuction, an excision discussion, a staged plan, a referral, or waiting. A written quote follows only when surgery is appropriate.
Combining procedures
Combination surgery can mean one recovery instead of two — but it also means a longer operation and a different risk profile. Operative-time and volume limits outrank convenience. Some plans are safer staged weeks or months apart.
What body contouring is not
- A weight-loss operation or a treatment for obesity
- A guaranteed clothing size or scale number
- A fix for cellulite
- A substitute for stable habits after surgery
FAQ
Body contouring questions
Is body contouring the same as liposuction?
Liposuction is one body contouring tool — the volume-reduction one. Body contouring also includes excision procedures that remove skin, which are separate operations with longer scars and recovery. Liposuction overview →
How do I know if I need skin removal?
Common clues are skin that folds, creases, or hangs rather than feeling firm and full. Stretch marks on loose skin are another signal. Only an exam can confirm it — bring photos of what bothers you seated and standing.
We will tell you directly at consultation.
Can I combine Lipo 360 with another procedure?
Sometimes, when it is offered and safe for you. Combination plans are discussed only after an exam and medical review; some are staged instead of combined. Combination planning →
What about non-surgical fat reduction?
Non-surgical categories can help some people with small, pinchable pockets, typically over multiple sessions and with more modest change. They do not address circumferential fullness the way a surgical plan can. Compare expectations →
How much does body contouring cost?
It depends entirely on which procedure, how many areas, anesthesia, and facility. We do not post invented prices. See cost factors → · Financing →

Not sure which toolkit fits?
That is exactly what a consultation is for. We’ll examine fat, skin, and muscle, then tell you which option — or which wait — makes sense. Results vary.
