Your Lipo 360 Consultation: What Happens, What to Bring, What to Ask
A consultation is a medical conversation, not a sales pitch. You talk about your goals, have an exam, and leave with a clear answer: whether Lipo 360, a more targeted liposuction plan, a different approach, or no procedure at all makes sense for you. Consultations are free, and booking one doesn’t commit you to anything. Results vary.
Step by step
What happens at your consultation
Every visit is a little different, so the order may change. Here is the general flow, so nothing feels like a surprise.
You request a time
Book online or call 561-363-5538. A coordinator follows up to confirm a day and time at our Greenacres office. If you’d rather start from home, ask about a virtual consultation.
Health history
You’ll go over your medical history, current medications and supplements, allergies, past surgeries, and how you’ve healed before. Honest, complete answers here are one of the most important parts of keeping you safe.
Your goals, in your own words
Point out the areas that bother you, how long they’ve bothered you, and what you’ve already tried. It helps to describe what “better” would look like to you, such as how clothes fit or how your waist looks from the side.
A hands-on exam
Michael Clerveus, MD, a board-certified general surgeon, looks at your torso from the front, sides, and back: where fat sits, skin quality and elasticity, the abdominal wall, and natural asymmetries. Photos may be taken for your medical record with your permission.
Your options, including “not yet”
You’ll hear which approaches fit your body: Lipo 360, liposuction of specific areas, an excision-based body contouring procedure, a combination, or waiting until health or weight goals are met. Being told to wait is a normal and useful answer.
Safety and planning details
- Which type of anesthesia would be recommended for you, and why
- Where the procedure would take place (this is confirmed at your consultation)
- Compression garments, time off work, and help at home
- Follow-up visits and how to reach the team after hours
- Medications or habits to pause beforehand, only as directed
A personalized quote and time to decide
If a procedure is recommended and you’d like to move forward, you can ask for a quote based on your own plan. You don’t have to decide that day. Take it home, talk it over, and call with questions.

Checklist
What to bring
- A photo ID
- A list of every medication, vitamin, and supplement you take, with doses
- Past surgeries, with approximate dates, and any reactions to anesthesia
- Recent lab results or records from your primary care doctor, if you have them
- A rough idea of how your weight has changed over the past year or two
- Comfortable clothing that is easy to change out of for the exam
- Your questions, written down so you don’t forget them
- A partner or friend for a second set of ears, if you’d like (just mention it when you book)
Be an informed patient
Questions worth asking
- Am I a good candidate for Lipo 360, or would a smaller, targeted plan suit me better?
- What is your board certification, and where can I verify it?
- Where would my procedure be performed, and how is that facility accredited?
- What type of anesthesia do you recommend for me, and who provides it?
- What will recovery likely mean for my work, family, and exercise routine?
- What are the main risks for someone with my health history?
- How will we handle it if I’m unhappy with part of the result?
- What exactly is included in my quote, and what isn’t?
- How are my photos stored, and will they ever be used without my written consent?
Candidacy & safety screening
Sometimes the best answer is “not right now”
Liposuction reshapes stubborn, localized fat. It isn’t a weight-loss treatment, and it doesn’t remove loose skin. Part of every consultation is a safety screening: your health history, medications that can affect bleeding or healing, nicotine use, past reactions to anesthesia, and any conditions that need to be under control first. Depending on what comes up, you may be asked for lab work or a note from your primary care doctor before anything is scheduled.
A plan may make sense if you
- Are at or near a weight you can maintain
- Have fat that sits in specific areas rather than all over
- Have skin that is likely to tighten after fat is removed
- Are in good general health and can stop nicotine as instructed
- Have goals that match what liposuction can realistically do
You may be advised to wait or look at other options if
- Loose skin, not fat, is the main concern
- You’re planning a pregnancy or a big weight change
- A medical condition needs attention first
- You use nicotine and can’t stop for the time you’re asked to
- Expectations go beyond what any procedure can promise
